General hints

A cFosSpeed license bought from www.cfos.de can be used at any time to activate cFosSpeed.

Hints for special problems

How can I change the Outlook Express settings, to receive the license key files key.cfosspeed or key.cfos?

Using Outlook Express please go to Tools - Options and then to the submenu Security .

1. Mark Internetzone (useful, but not that safe) with a dot.
2. Disable 'Show warnings'
3. registration_help_p3Disable 'Not allow to safe attachments that could be a virus'

Then you can double click the attachment and save it to your disk.

If you need them you can change the settings of the Securityzones again.

The license key opens like a text file

1. Save the license key to your hard drive
2. Open the file by right clicking on it and selecting Open with and then using Search for choosing the cFosSpeed installation program setup.exe inside the cFosSpeed installation directory, e.g. C: - Programs - cFosSpeed - setup.exe.

License key activation fails with error 12175

We need detailed information to investigate this problem.

Please install the latest beta from   www.cfos.de/beta , then follow these steps:

1. Preparation: 1. Using the right mouse button click on: START/Programs/Zubehör/Eingabeaufforderung and choose the item "open as administrator" from the context menu.
   
   2. Change to the cFosSpeed installation directory by putting in "cd c:\Program Files\cFosSpeed\"
   
   3. Open the cFosSpeed console and enter the command "spd gset dump_tcp_data 1; gset dump_udp_data 1; gset dump_wshark 1; gset max_dump_size 1g"
2. The output for this command should look like this
   
   dump_wshark 1; gset max_dump_size 1g
   dump_tcp_data = 1
   dump_udp_data = 1
   dump_wshark = 1
   max_dump_size = 1073741824 (1 G)
3. 4. Start cFosSpeed dump
   Start the dump with the command "spd dump ign"
4. The output for this command should look like this
   
   dump ign (48)
   dump data: incoming before accept_check, outgoing before accept_check
   
   5. The dump file is written into the directory C:\ProgramData\cFos\cFosSpeed
5. 6. Repeat the steps that led to the error message
   (Try to activate the license again)
6. 7. Stop the dump
   Stop the cFosSpeed dump with the command "spd dump off"
7. 8. Please send us all dump*.txt files from C:\ProgramData\cFos\cFosSpeed and the file cfosspeed_setup_log.txt (see windows directory)
