cFosSpeed, new Version 4.50 now with prioritisation for web-surfing.

cFosSpeed is a network driver which attaches itself to existing Internet connections. It optimises data transfer by means of Traffic Shaping. Traffic Shaping is a method for optimising Internet traffic. It allows maximum speed while ensuring minimal ping..

cFosSpeed supports a wide variety of connection types, like DSL, cable, ISDN, UMTS, etc.

Important feature of this version is the differentiation between HTTP web-surfing and HTTP downloads. Thereby cFosSpeed can give web-surfung precedence and limit the bandwidth for HTTP downloads. Web-surfing is an interactive Internet use and needs a responsive connection while HTTP downloads can usually be limited, if the available bandwidth is required for more important tasks. With the dialog for protocol prioritisation the user can adjust the precedence of HTTP accordingly.

cFos IPv6 Link is available either as a 30-day trial version (which can be downloaded for free at http://www.cfos.com/download/download_e.htm ) or as the full version for €14,90 .

Windows Vista, XP and Server 2003/2008, Win2k; x86 and x64 editions.

Press Release (July 23rd, 2008)

cFos IPv6 Link, Connectivity with the new IPv6.

cFos IPv6 Link allows Dial-Up with IPv6 for Windows XP und Vista. While Vista partly supports PPP Dial-Up into the IPv6, Windows XP has no PPP stack capable of IPv6 dial-up. In this case cFos IPv6 Link offers users of Windows XP to connect to the IPv6 network. Also under Windows Vista there are great advantages. For example it handles the automatic configuration of all connection parameters and is much faster than the driver shipped with Vista.

Everyone who wants to try cFos IPv6 Link, can use it with a DSL modem or an IPv4 router, which supports PPPoE-Passthrough.

cFos IPv6 Link supports the typical IPv6 address- and routing auto-configuration with

In addition cFos IPv6 Link has a DNS mapper, which translates IPv4- and IPv6 DNS queries into queries for the IPv6 and into IPv4 if no IPv6 DNS server is known.

cFos IPv6 Link is available either as a 30-day trial version (which can be downloaded for free at http://www.cfos.com/download/download_e.htm ) or as the full version for €29,- .

Windows Vista, XP and Server 2003/2008, x86 and x64 editions.

Press Release (March 28th, 2008)

cFos Broadband Connect, new PPPoE dial-up driver for high-speed Internet.

cFos Broadband Connect is a network driver for very fast PPPoE Internet access, like DSL and Cable. While the driver shipped with Windows can only transfer up to 4.5 Mbyte/s (= 36 Mbit/s), cFos Broadband Connect sends up to 50 Mbyte/s (= 400 Mbit/s), tested with Gigabit LAN, Pentium 4 (3GHz).

cFos Broadband Connect is designed for maximum throughput under minimum CPU load. This leaves your CPU power to the actual Internet application, like media players, etc. At full speed cFos Broadband Connect needs only 3% CPU time.

cFos Broadband Connect supports all important PPPoE parameters. These can easily be configured with the phone number used for the Dial-Up connection. With Auto-Detect cFos Broadband Connect finds all Internet access points connected to your system.

cFos Broadband Connect can also accept incoming calls. This way, you can set up your own PPPoE server.

cFos Broadband Connect allows multiple PPPoE sessions simultaneously. You can use any number of incoming and outgoing sessions. With the 'Service-Name' and 'AC-Name' parameters you can restrict connections to certain services or access points.

cFos Broadband Connect supports NDIS 6 under Vista, thereby providing even more network performance.

cFos Broadband Connect is available either as a 30-day trial version (which can be downloaded for free at http://www.cfos.com/download/download_e.htm ) or as the full version, currently starting at a special offer price of €9,95.

Press Release June 02, 2006

cFos v7.0 64-bit ISDN and DSL Driver uncovered!

Following up on its initial finds of 16-bit CAPI FOSSILS in early DOS deposits and later discoveries of 32-bit specimens in Windolithic layers, a team of cFos-O-logists led by Chris Lueders and Martin Winkler have now unearthed a 64-bit version of this once widespread genus of ISDN and DSL drivers in the skeletal remains of a recently excavated x64 Windosaurus. This proves that the cFos family belonged to only a select few driver species that succeeded in doubling bitwidth twice during their evolution

Hailed as a sensational find, this also calls into question long-established theories that posit such software had been under threat of extinction with the imminent rise of broadband networks. Windologists cite an amazing adaptability to new developments in telecommunications as the primary reason for the enduring popularity of cFos drivers. The ability to establish symbiotic relationships with both time-tested software and new technologies seems to have been of utmost importance for this. Thus, not only could the 64-bit drivers link up with ISDN cards still extant at that time, but they did also optimize the performance of broadband networks – by letting them achieve higher data throughput and low ping times through Traffic Shaping.

By participating in a 30-day trial program, eager scientists now hope to find out more about unique abilities exhibited by the latest CAPI fossil, such as:

However, prior to any such research, the 64-bit version must first be downloaded in full from:

www.cfos.com/download/download_e.htm

cFos-O-logists under the leadership of Chris Lueders and Martin Winkler have been researching the development and evolutionary history of cFos drivers in disparate habitats for more than 13 years. The main scientific focus has always been on different adaptation techniques to new conditions. One such strategy is Traffic Shaping, which has been successfully demonstrated for both cFos and cFosSpeed.

cFosSpeed v2.10, new improved quality for Voice-over-IP (VoIP)

cFosSpeed is a Traffic Shaping driver that sorts Internet packets according to their relative importance. Besides optimizing Internet traffic, cFosSpeed also produces extremely low ping times - essential for interactive applications and games.

What's new in this version:

What is Traffic Shaping?

Traffic Shaping analyzes incoming and outgoing Internet traffic and prioritizes time-critical data packets (like TCP ACKs), making sure they are sent prior to other packets. On top of that, cFosSpeed achieves very low latency through optimized transmission.

Details and test results are available at http://www.cfos.de/traffic_shaping/traffic_shaping_e.htm. This is also where you'll find an easy way for users to test the effects of Traffic Shaping for themselves.

For more info on how cFosSpeed optimizes Internet traffic compared to methods utilized by other programs, refer to http://www.cfos.de/traffic_shaping/tuning_e.htm.

cFosSpeed is available either as a 30-day trial version (which can be downloaded for free at www.cfos.com/download/download_e.htm) or as the full cFosSpeed/Professional version, starting at 29.
