Technischer Hintergrund
TCP Auto-Tuning misst die RTT der Verbindung zu Beginn und wenn Daten gesendet werden. Bei reinen Downloads ohne Sende-Daten kann diese Messung ungenau werden, so dass das RWIN zu klein bleibt. Dies kann man leicht an einer schnellen Internetverbindung bei hoher Latenz überprüfen, z.B. einer 50MBit/s Verbindung von Europa nach Amerika oder bei mobilen Breitband-Verbindungen.
Ergebnisse des cFosSpeed RWIN-Expansion-Award 2012
Viele Nutzer erreichen nicht die maximal mögliche Downloadgeschwindigkeit ihrer Internetverbindung. In vielen Fällen kann das Windows 7 / Windows Vista TCP-Auto-Tuning nicht die volle Download-Speed herausholen. Außerdem sind viele Download-Programme nicht für heutige Highspeed-Verbindungen ausgelegt. Die cFosSpeed RWIN Expansion kann nun diese Downloads beschleunigen, indem sie die TCP Window Size der jeweiligen aktuellen Leitungsgeschwindigkeit anpasst. Dies führt zu unerwarteten Geschwindigkeitsverbesserungen!
Zum Beispiel konnten wir die Download-Rate des Internet Explorers verdoppeln und sie bei Mobilfunk/UMTS sogar fast verdreifachen.
