Meter test


  1. Unzip this ZIP file under Windows into a directory, e.g. c:\charging_manager.
  2. Make sure that your inverter can be reached from Windows and that you know the IP address and port. For Modbus TCP you still need the slave ID.
  3. Open a command line window, change to the directory of the cFos Charging Manager, cd c:\charging_manager and enter the following:
    charging_manager.exe meter meter_sunspec <addr>:<port> <slave_id>
    As <addr> enter the IP address of the inverter, as <port> the port it listens on, as <slave_id> the Modbus TCP slave id,
    for example charging_manager.exe meter meter_sunspec 3.

We would be very interested to know what output the cFos Charging Manager provides.
Please let us know with an exact type designation of your inverter. We will then publish a list of compatible inverters.

By the way: Many additional devices, such as solar energy managers or storage units also work with the SunSpec, so they may also run with the cFos Charging Manager. You are also welcome to send us the output from such devices.

Instead of meter_sunspec you can also try the following device type:
so e.g. charging_manager.exe meter meter_sma_inverter 3.
Then you can see if the cFos Charging Manager is compatible with your SMA inverter.

You can integrate these as a producer meter with the latest version of cFos Charging Manager without having to install an extra intermediate meter.
